Natural Park of the Coral Sea,

Visiting the Chesterfield, Entrecasteaux, and Bellona protected areas.

In August 2018, New Caledonia created the Parc Naturel de la Mer de Corail reserve that includes the Chesterfield, Bellona, Entrecasteaux, Pétrie and Astrolabe reefs. Some islands and reefs are designated "integral reserves" allowing no access or human activity except scientific research authorized in advance by the Parc Naturel de la Mer de Corail. Most of the reefs and islands are classified "natural reserves" allowing visits approved in advance by the Parc Naturel de la Mer de Corail.
